 Set the Context for Process Facilitation.

  • Hold a meeting with people involved in your business process to describe and discuss the business challenge or problem of the process
  • Identify reasons that prompt the need for facilitation
  • Review available business data about the process to agree on and confirm the need
  • State targets or objectives of your facilitation activity
  • Gather customer inputs regarding the process
  • Identify external customer needs and determine how they apply to the process and its outputs
  • Determine who will participate in the facilitation activity
  • Identify which internal business processes will be influenced by or involved in the activity
  • Develop a chart that explains the scope of your facilitation activity (facilitation objectives + customer needs)
