1. Get Ready for the Holiday.

  • Research the Holiday. Perhaps, it’s impossible to get prepared for the holiday having no idea of when and why the people of China celebrate it. That’s why you need to read about Chinese New Year traditions, history and celebration practices. You can use Internet to find a lot of information on Chinese New Year origin.
  • Schedule Your Time. To get everything done in a timely manner, you’ll need to start your preparation for Chinese New Year activities a month before the holiday’s start. Use time management software (e.g. VIP Task Manager) to create Chinese New Year calendars and schedule your time and tasks.

  • Buy New Clothes. Chinese New Year events are closely linked to new clothes. The people of China like to shop for new clothes before the holiday’s beginning. You, your family and friends can also go to the nearest clothing store and purchase everything needed for the next year.

2. Plan Chinese New Year Party.

  • Make a Guest List. When doing this, keep in mind how many people the party venue can accommodate. First of all, think about your family members, relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers.
  • Send Invitations. Your guests won’t attend your Chinese New Year party if no invitations have been sent. That’s why you need to send a welcoming Chinese New Year Eve invitation to every guest through e-mail or traditional mail at least 2 weeks in advance. Then give your guest 1 week for responding.
