  1. Establish Right Goals.
    • Use SMART method in goal setting
    • Be sure every process goal is actionable and current
    • Confirm every goal goes beyond platitudes and makes sense to employees
    • Use priorities if a process has multiple goals
    • Set deadlines per goal
    • Develop a schedule that includes all goal deadlines
    • Use this schedule to monitor goal status at any given point in time
    • Add milestones to the schedule to check goal status against certain criteria (e.g. performance, resource usage, effectiveness) 
  2. Have a Detailed Plan.
    • Elaborate every goal and define key implementation steps
    • Combine all steps into a hierarchy of tasks (a to-do list)
    • Develop a detailed plan that includes all tasks of goal implementation
    • Be sure there is a strategy for managing risks or any negative events that can break a process
    • Agree upon this plan with the senior management before starting implementing it
    • Indentify and estimate resources required for the plan
    • Make sure your company is capable of providing all necessary resources

    • Start implementing the plan as all necessary funds are invested and available for use 
  3. Develop a Communication Strategy.
    • Identify communication channels available for use in the operational environment
    • Use SWOT analysis to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of the environment
    • Identify levels of risk caused by specific threats to communications
    • Develop a strategy that addresses threats and ensure good process communications
    • Have a system for notifying and reminding personnel of proper process focus and overall mission
    • Be sure that the implementation is communicated to all staff members 
  4. Ensure Employee Involvement.
    • Make sure that every employee understands how he or she brings value and contribution to the company
    • Confirm that every employee understands how to perform assigned processes
    • Make employees aware of how their actions will move the company forward
    • Carry out regular (weekly, bi-weekly) meetings with personnel to ensure their effort is aligned with every process assigned
    • Provide training to employees
    • Instruct team leaders and managers in preferred course of action (how processes are supposed to be done)
    • Heighten employee commitment and involvement through effective leadership and motivation 
  5. Use Feedback.
    • Establish an effective reporting process that ensures every critical and unsolved issue is communicated to the senior management
    • Encourage workers for their effort to report on process goal conflicts and misunderstanding
    • Perform weekly meetings to discuss open problems
    • Have a system of exchanging instant messages between workers
