"...This is an excellent program. I'm so glad that I stumbled on to this when researching for task management programs. Very low learning curv, quite flexible, and the price is right. Tried at least 20 other programs, either too complicated, too expensive, or poor documentation..."

1.    Process Activity Specification.

  • Identify activities required to perform your process
  • Combine all activities into a hierarchy that demonstrates how every activity relates to other activities within the same process
  • Specify expected outcomes of each activity
  • Identify overall process outcome as the total of activity outcomes
  • Determine standard life-cycle for your process
  • Identify and explore reasons (events and conditions) which trigger process activities
  • Calculate the total length of activity time required to perform the process
  • Develop a process context diagram that demonstrates the activity workflow, define the process life-cycle, and explains triggering reasons and process time-frames

2.    Requirement Elicitation Methods.

  • Individual Interviews. Hold one-on-one meetings with the owner and client of your process to talk about their needs and expectations regarding the process and to agree on process requirements.
  • Group Interviews. Carry out focused interviews with all people involved in the process to uncover a richer set (as compared to individual interviews) of requirements in a shorter period.
  • Facilitated Sessions. During a facilitated session, bring the owner and other participants together and try to brainstorm their ideas and thoughts regarding the most suitable and satisfactory set of process requirements.
  • Questionnaires. Create and share printable questionnaires among process stakeholders to gather quick statistics about your business process and understand how they understand the process.
  • Prototyping. Request the client of your process for initial requirements and develop a prototype based on those requirements.
  • Following People Around. Watch how people involved in your business process perform related jobs and activities and try to understand what they require to make the process easier and more effective.

3.    Gathering Criteria.

  • Requirements are accurate because they:
  • Do not contradict other processes
  • Are not in conflict with stated assumptions or constraints (business environment, technical environment, schedule, resources, expenses)
  • Support the process............
