Product Transfer Checklist:

  • Verify the customer's personality: if you are dealing with him in person, then check personal details & address, or verify correctness of attributes typed on the product's packaging (or in accompanying notes for delivery guys), so you can make sure the package will be delivered to right place;
  • Complete pre-transfer tests and examinations to prove that the product is workable and performs all its functions definitely well. Demonstrate operational state of the product to the customer;
  • Ensure the product's sign-off within organization. Since done by all key specialists who are responsible for product transferring to the customer, it confirms that the product complies with certain standards on readiness, completeness, and quality;
  • If some defects are detected (hence sign-off is impossible), then address them properly - redo or repair what is possible yet, or exchange a spoiled product sample to a good one. Only when all problems are rectified, the product can be released (after repeating and passing the sign-off);  
  • Since you are completely sure about your product's proper quality and its compliance with customer expectations, consider adjustments that should be done at the customer's place to adapt the product to specific local environment;
  • Consider what post-delivery services should be rendered to the customer immediately (aftersale setup and installation) and what support activities are included into this deal in a long-term prospective;
  • Make sure that all product transfer procedures, engaged specialists and dedicated technical means are available and ready to work;
  • Create an individual plan of services and supportive activities for each specific customer in order to ensure his satisfaction and prevent refunds;
  • Ensure the product is supplied with a full set of practical documentation - everything the customer expects to find in your package, including user handbooks for successful product setup or installation, and user guides enabling clients to get quickly into productive work;
