1. Analyze task management requirements:

  • Review the task’s background and make sure you have a clear-cut statement of work (SOW);
  • Compose task performance plan to formulate and clarify the scope of work. Delve into details to check if all parts of the working process are planned in feasible and clear terms;
  • Figure out and approve task’s timeframes (analyze when the task’s results should be delivered to satisfy high-level plans);
  • Make sure if appropriate controls are known how to be deployed over the task’s constraints (check if you can empower some qualified specialists and put in place effective procedures to administer budget, time and quality of work);
  • Define requirements and the main areas of task administration (including demanded skills and expertise), and assemble a team of dedicated managers;
  • Establish the level of responsibility or level of supervision to have an administrative structure at hands;
  • Analyze quality requirements to design and document the performance standards;
  • Make sure you have working metrics and methods to examine and approve the task results;

2. Analyze task workforce and resources:

  • Run throughout the task working plan to define and list the professional skills necessary to drive the whole job execution from its beginning to completion;
  • List personnel requirements to make sure you fully know what types of workers are neccesary to accomplish this job on its every step;
  • Determine which of these positions and roles must be engaged during the entire duration of task’s workflow, and which of them will be involved only at certain stages;
  • List and estimate items required to perform the task (equipment, tools, technologies, etc);
  • List and estimate types and amounts of raw materials necessary to accomplish the work;
  • List and estimate utilities necessary to support working activities (energy, service water, etc);
  • List and estimate all other related costs (for example: expenses for moving, hooking up utilities, administrative costs, etc);
  • Estimate budget necessary to compensate labour/contribution of performers;
  • Calculate and approve the budget for all-round completion of this work (analyze what funding will cover all expenses of this task);

3. Analyze environmental conditions:

  • Identify how the environment, both political and physical, may generally affect the task (define supportive and destructive powers);
  • Describe the task performance environmental requirements – how the site and situation should correspond with needs of the task;
